Annual General Meeting in Austria
On 7 May 2026, representatives of the EUF met for their annual general meeting. The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Austrian Tiles Association at the Centro CERAMCIO in Stoob, Burgenland. A big thank you to our colleagues from Austria for their hospitality.
In the annual report, the Executive Board reviewed the activities of the past year. In July 2025, a training camp lasting several days was held at the CERUNIQ training centre in preparation for EuroSkills and SwissSkills, with financial support from SIKA and PCI. This was followed in September by participation in Cersaie in Bologna, where association representatives from across Europe exchanged views on topics such as health and safety at work and the shortage of young talent. In March 2026, the Technical Commission met in Verona, where it visited the new supporting members IONIA, DONATONI and DAKOTA.
The Executive Board remains committed to the three strategic objectives that have been pursued since Luca Berardo took office: expanding the network ecosystem with partners such as UFEMAT, CET and ACE; strengthening technological cooperation; and the targeted promotion of young talent within the member associations. The General Assembly unanimously approved the 2025 Annual Report.
Petr Obraz takes over as Chair of the Technical Commission
In accordance with the rotation principle adopted in Aalborg in 2024, the chairmanship of the Technical Commission changes annually. The assembly bid farewell to the outgoing Chair, Paolo Colombo (ASSOPOSA, Italy), with a round of applause and unanimously elected Petr Obraz of the Czech Tilesetters’ Association CZ OBKLADACU as his successor for the 2026/27 term. Damian Groarke of NFTAI (Ireland) has already been designated to take over for 2027/28.

Annual General Meeting in Austria
This year’s EUF General Meeting took place at the headquarters of the Austrian Tiles Association at the Centro CERAMCIO in Stoob, Burgenland.
Team France wins the PCI-Alpencup 2026
At the fifth PCI Alpine Cup, Team France, comprising Nathanael Ball and Samuel Retiere, took first place in a thrilling final, followed by the teams from Switzerland (second place) and Germany (third place). Hosts Sika Germany organised the PCI Alpine Cup in close collaboration with the European Union of National Tile Trade Associations (EUF).
Swiss tilers can now retire at 62
The Ceruniq representative assembly and the Swiss trade unions have approved early retirement for tilers in Switzerland.
EUF Technical Commission Spring Meeting 2026
The spring meeting of the EUF Technical Commission took place from 24 to 26 March 2026. The focus was on an in-depth exchange between the EUF and funding partners from Verona, Italy.
