Annual General Meeting in Sassuolo
On 8 and 9 May, the heart of the Italian ceramics industry was the venue for the 2025 General Assembly of the EUF | European Union of National Tile Installer Associations. We would like to thank our Italian colleagues for their organisation and hospitality.
Around 40 delegates and guests from 12 European countries accepted the invitation from Confindustria Ceramica and Assoposa (the Italian tile installers' association) and, in addition to the formal proceedings, were able to take part in an intensive and interesting two-day programme of events in Italy's ceramics district.
Armando Cafiero, Director General of Confindustria Ceramica, welcomed all the delegates and guests in the Confindustria Ceramica auditorium in Sassuolo, emphasising the need to further strengthen the ties between the manufacturing industry and professionals in the installation sector. He thanked the EUF for its commitment to vocational training and technology and expressed his hope that this partnership would become even stronger and more visible to the outside world in the future.
After the introductory speech by Armando Cafiero, Karl-Hans Körner (outgoing President) opened the meeting. The meeting elected the previous 2nd Vice-President Luca Berardo, President of Assoposa, as the new EUF President for the three-year period 2025-2028. In addition, Anita Wolf (Austria), 1st Vice-President, Laurent Decker (Luxembourg), Treasurer, and Andreas Furgler (Switzerland), Director General of the EUF, were confirmed in their positions. Petr Obraz (Czech Republic) was elected as the new 2nd Vice-President.
Highlights included a meeting with Graziano Verdi, Vice President of Confindustria Ceramica and President of CET, as well as visits to iconic companies in the ceramics district. In addition to the intensive dialogue at the meeting, this helped to strengthen and deepen relations between European tile installers and manufacturers.
Confindustria Ceramica has renewed its traditional invitation to European tile installers to participate in Cersaie 2025 and the new edition of Città della Posa.
Team France wins the PCI-Alpencup 2026
At the fifth PCI Alpine Cup, Team France, comprising Nathanael Ball and Samuel Retiere, took first place in a thrilling final, followed by the teams from Switzerland (second place) and Germany (third place). Hosts Sika Germany organised the PCI Alpine Cup in close collaboration with the European Union of National Tile Trade Associations (EUF).
Swiss tilers can now retire at 62
The Ceruniq representative assembly and the Swiss trade unions have approved early retirement for tilers in Switzerland.
EUF Technical Commission Spring Meeting 2026
The spring meeting of the EUF Technical Commission took place from 24 to 26 March 2026. The focus was on an in-depth exchange between the EUF and funding partners from Verona, Italy.
The EUF Technical Commission visits FECAMO
The Belgian tilers' association FECAMO hosted the meeting of the EUF Technical Commission in mid-November.
